Revised Visitation Guidelines

On March 17, 2021, Bethel Lutheran Home and Bethel Suites will allow indoor visitation for all residents regardless of vaccination status. There are a few circumstances when visitation will be limited due to the high risk of COVID-19 transmission. These scenarios include limiting indoor visitation for:

  • Unvaccinated residents, if the positivity rate in Lake county is greater than 10% and less than 70% of residents in the facility are fully vaccinated.
  • Residents with confirmed COVID-19 infection.
  • Residents in quarantine.
**(Note: Fully vaccinated refers to a person who is >2 weeks following receipt of the 2nd dose in a 2-dose series, or >2 weeks following receipt of one dose of a single dose vaccine.) **

We are summarizing visitation guidelines so you will be prepared for your visit.

  • Visitation is by appointment only. You must call the Bethel Home business office at (605) 256-4539,  or Bethel Suites at (605) 480-2668 to schedule the visit prior to arriving at the center to visit with your loved one.
  • All visitors must furnish their own face mask.
  • All visitors will be screened prior to entering the facility.
  • You will be asked to use hand sanitizer prior to entering the facility.
  • Visits are limited to 60 minutes. There are only two visitors per patient at one time and 4 residents per hallway receiving guests in Bethel Lutheran Home.
  • Visits are limited to 60 minutes. There are only two visitors per patient at one time and 6 residents total receiving guests Bethel Suites.
  • We will provide visitors additional guidelines upon your arrival.

We know that you share our concerns about efforts to keep residents in our community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. While we welcome this opportunity to make the next step in re-opening Bethel, we must all continue to be vigilant. If, at any time, it is deemed unsafe for visitors to enter the building—due to a rise in the number of cases in our community, either within our walls or in the broader community—it is our obligation per the South Dakota Department of Health guidelines to revisit and reassess the program.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
